Materials Required:

Earrings hoops, bendable head pins

Scissors , Fabric Glue

Abbreviations:

SC – single crochet

SS – Slip stitch

Ch – chain

DC – Double crochet

SS – Slip stitch

MR – Magic ring

St – Stitch

Dec - Decrease

Pattern:

Round 1: With red thread make a MR, 6 SC into MR. SS into first SC.

Round 2: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 6 stitches.

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 6 stitches.

Round 4: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 9 stitches.

Round 5: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 9 stitches.

Round 6: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next,1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 12 stitches.

Round 7: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 12 stitches.

Round 8: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next,1 SC in next,1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 15 stitches.

Round 9: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 15 stitches.

Round 10: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next,1 SC in next,1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 18 stitches.

Round 11: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 18 stitches.

Round 12: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next,1 SC in next,1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 21 stitches.

Round 13: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 21 stitches.

Round 14: Ch 1, 2 SC in same St, 1 SC in next,1 SC in next,1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, 1 SC in next, repeat pattern. SS into first SC. Total 24 stitches.

Round 15 - 16: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 24 stitches.

Round 17 - 16: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC using white yarn. Total 24 stitches.

Round 18 - 21: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. Total 24 stitches.

Chain 1, pull up loop and cut yarn.

White Hat Top:

Round 1: With white thread, make a MR, 6 SC in MR. SS into first SC.

Round 2: Ch 1, 2 SC, 1 SC, repeat. SS into first SC. Total 9 SC.

Round 3: Ch 1, 1 SC in each stitch across. SS into first SC. Total 9 stitches.

Round 4: Ch 1, 1 SC dec, 1 SC, 1 SC dec, 1 SC, 1 SC dec, 1 SC. SS into first SC. total 6 sts.

Note: For SC decrease, insert hook into first SC, yarn over pull through, insert hook into next SC, yarn over pull through. See the picture below. Now there are 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over pull through all the 3 loops. This completes one SC dec stitch.

Chain 1 pull up loop and cut yarn:

Assembly: Apply glue inside the white hat top, then insert a bendable earring hook into the hat and then through the white hat top.

Apply more glue inside the white hat top and fix it to top portion of the hat. This should dry completely.

Using Cutter, cut excess bendable earring hook. Using Pliers, bend the hook as shown here.

Stiffen the hat pattern with fabric starch, or you make one by mixing glue & water (1:3); dip the pattern in the glued water mix and let it dry completely.

Make another earring using the above-mentioned steps.
